Broadcast Both — Backup Mode

West Bountiful 1st, 7th & 8th Wards
You are running BOTH today (backup mode) This runs YouTube and Zoom at the same time from the one OBS. It is almost exactly like a normal Sunday — you just turn on both outputs and start both services. If one platform has a bad day, the other still carries the meeting.

Step 1 — Get OBS ready

  1. Confirm the camera light on the camera base is blue (camera is on).
  2. Make sure the wireless audio box at the pulpit is on (it shows a blue light).?
  3. Open OBS Studio from the desktop.

  4. Click the Live Broadcast scene. You should see the live chapel view.

Step 2 — Turn on BOTH outputs in OBS

  1. On the right side of OBS, under Controls, click Start Virtual Camera — this feeds Zoom.
  2. Then click Start Streaming — this feeds YouTube.
    For both-at-once, click BOTH buttons: 'Start Streaming' (YouTube) and 'Start Virtual Camera' (Zoom).

  3. Both buttons should now read Stop… — that means both outputs are running. Leave them on.
They do not interfere The virtual camera and the stream are independent outputs of the same scenes. Running both together is completely fine — that is exactly what gives you the backup.

Step 3 — Start the Zoom meeting

  1. Open Zoom Workplace, click Recurring (1), then on Sunday Broadcast click the Start meeting.

  2. In the join preview, set the microphone to VB-Audio Virtual Cable and the camera to OBS Virtual Camera, then click Join.

  3. Confirm the top of Zoom says “Original sound for musicians: on”.

Step 4 — Go live on YouTube

  1. Open YouTube StudioManageChannel dashboard.
  2. Open today’s Upcoming event (West Bountiful 1st, 7th & 8th Wards) — check the date is correct.

  3. Click Go live.

Running the broadcast (same for Zoom & YouTube)

You control what people see at home simply by clicking a scene name in the lower-left corner of OBS. Here is the whole service in one table:

Switching to the Sacrament scene

  1. When the sacrament is about to begin, click Sacrament in the scenes list.

  2. Make sure the green headphone icon next to Sacrament Video in the Audio Mixer is on (green, not gray). That is what lets the music be heard at home.?

  3. When the sacrament is finished, click Live Broadcast to go back to the chapel.

Between wards / before the meeting

  1. Click Between Meetings to show the Church logo screen.

  2. Leave this scene up until the next ward starts — do not end the stream or meeting. Then switch back to Live Broadcast.

When everything is over

Do NOT end anything until ALL wards are finished Both platforms share this one broadcast. Do not end the YouTube stream or the Zoom meeting until every ward has finished, or you will cut off the wards who are still watching.
  1. Switch OBS to Between Meetings (the logo screen).
  2. When all wards are finished: in YouTube Studio click End stream, and in Zoom click EndEnd meeting for all.

  3. In OBS, click Stop Virtual Camera and Stop Streaming.
  4. You can leave the camera and computer on; the coordinator will handle the rest.
